4 Apr 2006 - U12's Finals Day
The North West Counties 8-12's ARLA acknowledge that many parents and relatives will want to take photographs during this year's U12's Cup Finals. The chair of the association does not seek to discourage this. After all, we should all relish a pictorial record of happy times.
Sadly, there is evidence that some people have used sporting events as an opportunity to take inappropriate photographs or film footage of young and disabled sports people in vulnerable positions. The NWC 8-12's ARL recognises the need to ensure the welfare and safety of all young people in Rugby League.
We seek to inform players and parents that photographers will be in attendance at this event and assume your consent to both the taking and publication of films or photographs under the
following circumstances.
The press have been invited to this event and we have no doubt they are clear about our expectations of them in relation to child protection.
If parents or other spectators are intending to photograph or video at this event they should be made aware of our expectations. We will take all steps to ensure these images are used solely for the purposes they are intended, which is the promotion and celebration of the activities of the individual teams and Rugby League in general.
Spectators are asked to notify an official on the day if they wish to use photographic equipment.
If players and parents have any concerns they can report these to the administrators.
